scroll ↓Hey — I'm Ilan, an Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Central Florida. I was born in Rio de Janeiro and have been in the U.S. since I was 13, and somewhere along the way I fell for both rockets and code.
I split my time between engineering — research, CAD, and the machine shop — and software, where I've been going deep on programming and applied AI. I like building things that actually work, learning fast, and problems where hardware meets software.
Off the clock, I'm usually outside with a camera pointed at the night sky. The star trails further down are mine.

Undergraduate research measuring how different fluids wet engineered meta-materials — using a high-powered laser to fabricate surface features and study their effect. Paper in progress.
Part of UCF's Formula SAE team. Spent most of my time in the machine shop, manufacturing and machining parts for the collegiate competition car.
